DN Decision Briefs / Evidence comparison

Paradex vs GRVT

Current documentation sharpens the comparison rather than producing an overall winner. Paradex Retail/Pro routing now has explicit speed bumps, limits and fee schedules; GRVT MAM now exposes CVRs, 9-tier trading fees and repayment charges. Both still leave live execution, permissions and user-specific eligibility unmeasured.

What Matters

Compare like with like. Keep the gaps visible.

2 pinned documentation briefs compared by decision condition. Not a live execution test, security audit, exhaustive product inventory or individual eligibility assessment.

Paradex Retail/Pro order treatment and GRVT Single-Asset/Multi-Asset margin are different kinds of settings. This comparison preserves those distinctions and does not equate their accounts, networks or cost schedules.

Classification and account mode

Trace related claims

Retail status is determined by submission route: UI and interactive-JWT orders are Retail; standard API orders default to Pro, and exceeding Retail limits switches treatment.

Paradex Retail and Pro orders

MAM currently supports USDT and USDC with documented CVRs and enabled-collateral controls; Single-Asset Mode counts USDT only.

Usable collateral and debt

Trace related claims

Non-USDC balances contribute to account value but not free collateral; USDC remains required for perpetual trading in the reviewed collateral guide.

Paradex non-USDC balances and collateral

Perps settle in USDT. Under MAM, USDC can contribute haircut-adjusted collateral, while a USDT shortfall can create borrow interest and later repayment/conversion fees.

Fee conditions

Trace related claims

Retail maker/taker fees are 0% across Perps, Spot and Options. Pro maker fees are 0.003%, while Pro taker fees use a 14-day combined-volume schedule starting at 0.045% with documented discounts and a 0.0175% floor.

Paradex trading fees

The current 9-tier schedule ranges from maker rebates of -0.0001% to -0.0030% and taker fees of 0.0450% to 0.0240%; MAM debt repayment can add 0.1%+ conversion fees depending on repayment path.

Balance and funding interpretation

Trace related claims

The collateral guide says non-USDC balances contribute to total account value but not free collateral, and USDC is required for perpetual markets.

Paradex non-USDC balances and collateral

The USDC deposit article describes automatic conversion to USDT through Rhino. The newer MAM guide separately describes USDC held as collateral.

Withdrawal conditions

Trace related claims

Withdrawable USDC is bounded by free collateral and account USDC balance; margin health is checked every five seconds and liquidation begins at 100% margin ratio.

Paradex risk checks

Static pages still differ slightly: the fee page lists network-specific flat fees, while the withdrawal article describes several Rhino routes as 1 USDT plus bridge gas.

Execution and liquidation limits

Trace related claims

Retail orders have 300 ms order/cancel speed bumps, low documented rate limits, RPI access and queue priority; Pro orders have no speed bump and higher limits. DN has not measured realised fills.

Paradex Retail and Pro orders

MAM can trigger automatic conversions or liquidation when haircut-adjusted margin deteriorates; DN has not reproduced those paths.

Classification and account mode: the implication

Paradex order classification and GRVT margin mode are different controls. Check both the submission route and the account's haircut-adjusted margin setting before comparing capital efficiency.

  • Provider-reportedWhat makes an order Retail or Pro?

Orders remain classified by how they are submitted. Web UI and interactive-JWT API orders are Retail; standard API orders default to Pro. Exceeding Retail limits automatically switches the account to Pro-order behavior and removes RPI access.

  • Provider-reportedDoes holding USDC always provide margin?

MAM currently supports USDT and USDC; USDT is always enabled and USDC is enabled by default but can be toggled. Current CVRs are documented at 99.8% for USDT and 99.5% for USDC, so Margin Balance is haircut-adjusted rather than equal to Total Equity.

Usable collateral and debt: the implication

Total account value is not available margin. GRVT's broader collateral model adds debt and conversion mechanics that Paradex's USDC-only perp margin does not.

  • Provider-reportedCan a stablecoin balance still create a borrowing cost?

Perpetuals still settle in USDT. Under MAM, a USDT shortfall can auto-borrow USDT against other collateral and accrue hourly interest. Current docs also describe manual, automated and liquidation repayment paths with conversion fees.
