Decentralised News Logo

Independent research, market intelligence and practical tools for the digital asset economy.

Decentralised News is an independent digital publication focused on cryptocurrency, digital assets, decentralised finance, blockchain infrastructure, trading technology, artificial intelligence, financial markets and the evolving intersection between traditional finance and onchain markets.

We publish news, research, technical analysis, platform reviews, comparative benchmarks, educational guides, proprietary indices, calculators and interactive decision tools. Our goal is not simply to report what happened — we aim to explain what matters, measure what can be measured, expose the trade-offs that marketing often leaves out, and build practical tools that turn information into useful decisions.

Our mission

To provide independent, understandable and decision-useful intelligence about digital assets and emerging financial technology.

The digital asset economy is increasingly difficult to navigate. Thousands of cryptocurrencies, exchanges, DEXs, wallets, stablecoins, trading protocols, AI platforms, APIs, tokenised assets and financial products compete for attention. Fees are difficult to compare. Risks are rarely expressed consistently. Promotional claims can obscure real costs.

Decentralised News exists to bring structure to that complexity. We want readers to leave our work knowing more than they did when they arrived, understanding the important trade-offs, knowing what remains uncertain and having a practical next step — whether they are buying their first cryptocurrency or building an institutional trading workflow.

What we cover

The infrastructure, markets and economics shaping digital assets.

Coverage ranges from introductory education to highly technical research for sophisticated traders, analysts, developers and digital asset professionals. The common thread is simple: does this information help someone understand, evaluate, use or manage digital assets more intelligently? If yes, it belongs within our editorial mission.

Who we write for

A broad audience, clearly defined.

We do not assume every reader wants the same answer. A beginner choosing a fiat on-ramp has different priorities from a derivatives trader executing a $500,000 order. That is why much of our research matches products and infrastructure to specific use cases rather than declaring universal winners.

Newcomers

Individuals learning how digital assets actually work, from first fiat on-ramp to first self-custody wallet.

Investors

Long-term holders comparing platforms, custody structures and the real cost of every route.

Active traders

Traders assessing execution quality, funding costs, APIs and venue reliability.

DeFi users

Onchain users evaluating protocols, bridges, signing risk and smart-contract exposure.

Developers

Builders selecting data and blockchain APIs by latency, coverage, licensing and DX.

Professionals

Fintech and digital-asset professionals, treasuries and teams managing operational risk.

What makes us different

Research as decision infrastructure, not another news feed.

The internet already has thousands of cryptocurrency articles. We do not believe the world needs another website that republishes announcements or ranks products by commission. Our work is built around a different model.

We treat research as decision infrastructure

A conventional article gives the reader information. Whenever practical, we go further and build a framework that helps the reader use it — interactive calculators, scoring models, comparison engines, decision trees, indices, risk matrices and execution benchmarks such as the DN Exchange Lab, DN Wallet Lab, DN Crypto Card Lab and the Crypto Platform Selector.

  • Which exchange is cheapest for your trading behaviour?
  • What is the real annual value of a crypto card after fees and reward caps?
  • Does your wallet architecture have a dangerous single point of failure?
  • How much does a VIP programme need to save before the required balance becomes worthwhile?

We measure friction, not just features

Comparison pages often reward the longest feature list. We are more interested in what happens when someone actually uses the product.

Exchanges

Fees, spread, depth, slippage, funding, withdrawal cost, API reliability and banking friction.

Wallets

Where the key lives, how recovery works, what the wallet signs and how many independent failures can compromise funds.

Cards

The gap between advertised cashback and real value after annual fees, FX, conversion costs and reward caps.

APIs

Freshness, latency, historical coverage, rate limits, chain coverage, licensing and developer experience.

Features describe a product. Friction describes the experience of actually using it.

Proprietary research — transparent by design

Depending on the subject, our frameworks analyse variables such as:

execution qualityspread & slippagemarket depthliquidity concentrationfunding costswithdrawal reliabilityliquidation methodologymargin efficiencycustody architecturesecurity controlsoracle designAPI infrastructuretransaction costsreward economicscapital requirementsfiat accessibilityregional availabilitysettlement architecturesmart-contract riskcounterparty exposuregovernanceautomation capabilityinteroperabilityoperational complexityuser experience

A score is useful only when readers can understand what produced it. Proprietary DN ratings are accompanied by the criteria, assumptions and limitations needed to interpret them. A mysterious number generated behind a black box is not meaningful research.

How we research

Seven principles behind every benchmark.

No single research process works for every article — a breaking-news report requires a different methodology from an exchange benchmark or quantitative model. But our work follows consistent principles.

1

Define the question before looking for the winner

“Best crypto exchange” is usually too broad. “Best venue for a professional trader executing a $500,000 BTC perpetual order” requires a completely different methodology. The question determines the variables; the evidence determines the conclusion.

2

Prefer primary sources

Official documentation, fee schedules, terms of service, regulatory records, API specifications, audit reports, proof-of-reserves and blockchain data come before secondary commentary — and we say so when something cannot be independently confirmed.

3

Distinguish facts from claims

A company saying something about itself is evidence of what the company claims, not proof it is correct. We separate statements, documentation, public data, independent evidence and remaining uncertainty.

4

First-hand testing where it adds evidence

Where practical, evaluations incorporate direct interaction with interfaces, trading systems, wallets, APIs and withdrawal processes. When analysis relies on published specifications instead of testing, the distinction is made clear.

5

Quantify what can be quantified

Instead of “good liquidity” we examine spread, depth and expected slippage. Numbers do not remove judgement — they make the assumptions behind it easier to challenge.

6

Explain the limitations

Liquidity changes, fees change, promotions end, APIs fail. A benchmark represents conditions observed under a defined methodology, not a permanent law — and we explain meaningful limitations rather than burying them.

7

Update research when reality changes

Fee schedules, recovery mechanisms, chain migrations and jurisdictional access all change. Important guides are periodically reviewed, and a changed publication date should always correspond to a meaningful update.

Standards & independence

Trust is difficult to build and easy to lose.

We separate the existence of a commercial relationship from the substance of an editorial conclusion, and we aim to earn trust through repeated behaviour rather than slogans.

No pay-to-win ranking

A company cannot buy first place in a Decentralised News ranking. Commercial partners may rank below non-partners, and partners may receive criticism when the evidence warrants it.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links are affiliate or referral links. Compensation generally does not increase the price you pay, and affiliate relationships never change the standards applied to analysis or risk findings.

Sponsored content is separate

Where material is sponsored or paid, it is clearly identified. Partners may provide facts and demonstrations — not the right to rewrite independent conclusions.

Editorial independence

The existence of a commercial relationship is separated from the substance of every editorial conclusion. We explain the criteria, examine the evidence and refuse to sell the conclusion.

Conflicts of interest

Material financial or personal interests that could reasonably affect interpretation are disclosed. Contributors do not use non-public editorial information for trading advantage.

Corrections policy

Material factual errors are corrected when identified and verified. Readers, companies and researchers are encouraged to submit corrections with supporting evidence — we evaluate the evidence, not the status of the submitter.

Our use of AI

AI-assisted tools may support research, data processing and workflows. AI output is not treated as authoritative by itself, editorial responsibility remains human, and material AI involvement is disclosed where a reader would expect it.

Original analysis over replication

We aim to add something that did not previously exist: comparisons, benchmarks, models, frameworks, calculators, datasets, decision trees and new syntheses of disconnected evidence.

Our approach to risk

Cryptocurrency, decentralised finance and leveraged trading can result in substantial or total financial loss. Inclusion on Decentralised News is not a guarantee of safety. An audit does not eliminate smart-contract risk. A regulated company can still fail. Our responsibility is to make important risks easier to see — not to pretend they can be removed.

Educational, not personal financial advice

We do not know your complete financial position, objectives, tax situation or tolerance for loss. Nothing on Decentralised News should be interpreted as personalised financial, investment, legal or tax advice. For high-consequence matters, qualified professional advice may be appropriate.

Our commitment to readers

The most valuable relationship is with the reader.

“Did the reader leave better equipped to make a decision than when they arrived?”

If the answer is no, the work is not finished.

  • We will try to be accurate.
  • We will show our reasoning.
  • We will distinguish evidence from marketing.
  • We will disclose commercial relationships.
  • We will correct meaningful errors.
  • We will acknowledge uncertainty.
  • We will update important research when circumstances materially change.
  • We will continue building tools that make difficult decisions easier.

What is Decentralised News?

Decentralised News is an independent digital publication covering cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, decentralised finance, digital assets, trading infrastructure, artificial intelligence, fintech and global financial markets. It publishes news, research, reviews, comparisons, educational guides, proprietary benchmarks and interactive tools.

What makes Decentralised News different from other crypto media?

Decentralised News focuses heavily on decision-useful research. In addition to journalism and analysis, it develops proprietary comparison frameworks, calculators, indices and interactive tools that help users evaluate exchanges, wallets, crypto cards, trading platforms, APIs, AI products and other financial technologies according to practical criteria.

Does Decentralised News provide financial advice?

No. Decentralised News provides educational information, research and analysis. It does not provide personalised financial, legal, investment or tax advice.

Does Decentralised News use affiliate links?

Yes. Some links are affiliate or referral links, meaning Decentralised News may receive compensation when eligible readers register, purchase or transact through those links. Affiliate relationships do not determine editorial conclusions, rankings or risk findings.

Can companies pay for a better ranking?

No. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable rating, ranking, review, risk assessment or editorial conclusion. Sponsored material is clearly identified separately from independent editorial work.

How does Decentralised News research products?

Research methods depend on the subject and may include primary documentation, fee schedules, technical specifications, public market data, blockchain data, audit reports, regulatory information, first-hand product interaction, quantitative modelling and independent secondary research. Where meaningful limitations exist, they are disclosed.

Does Decentralised News use artificial intelligence?

AI-assisted tools may be used to support research, data processing, coding, modelling and editorial workflows. AI output is not treated as authoritative evidence by itself, and human editorial responsibility remains central. Material AI involvement is disclosed where a reader would reasonably expect to understand how the content was produced.

How does Decentralised News handle corrections?

Material factual errors are corrected when identified and verified. Readers and companies are encouraged to submit corrections with supporting evidence to press@decentralised.news.

How often is Decentralised News content updated?

Important research and commercial pages are reviewed periodically and may be updated when fees, products, regulations, availability, market conditions or technical infrastructure materially change. Publication dates are only refreshed when substantive updates have been made.

Who is Decentralised News for?

Decentralised News serves crypto beginners, investors, active traders, professional market participants, DeFi users, developers, researchers, fintech professionals and businesses seeking reliable information about digital assets and emerging financial technology.

Beyond press-release aggregation. Beyond superficial top-10 rankings. Beyond unexplained scores. Decentralised News combines journalism, independent analysis, technical research, quantitative comparison, interactive decision tools and practical education.

When contacting us about an existing article, please include the article URL and supporting evidence. For commercial enquiries, please make the commercial nature of the enquiry clear — commercial communication and editorial correction requests are not the same thing.
