Disclaimers & disclosures

Understand the limits of our research, the risks of the products we cover and how commercial relationships are disclosed.

About these disclosures

Decentralised News (DN) publishes journalism, research, opinions, comparisons and decision-support tools covering crypto, finance, AI and emerging technology. These disclosures apply to decentralised.news and to DN-operated secondary blogs and social channels that link to them. They explain the limits of the information and our commercial disclosures; they do not replace product-specific warnings, our Terms of Use or applicable law.

Information, not personalised advice

Our content is general information and education, not personalised investment, financial, trading, legal, tax or other professional advice. It does not assess your objectives, experience, finances, risk tolerance or eligibility. Reading content, using a tool or contacting us does not create an adviser-client relationship. Editorial opinions and comparisons are not instructions to buy, sell, hold or use a product. Seek appropriately qualified, authorised advice for your circumstances and verify information independently before acting.

Financial and digital-asset risks

Cryptoassets, securities, derivatives and DeFi products can be volatile, illiquid and speculative. You may lose all the money committed. Leverage can cause rapid liquidation and, where a product permits it, losses exceeding your initial deposit. Borrowing and transaction costs can compound losses. Past performance, examples, forecasts, backtests and advertised yields do not guarantee future results. Do not commit money you cannot afford to lose.

Risks include fraud, custody failures, insolvency, hacks, smart-contract defects, bridge and oracle failures, compromised keys, administrative controls, network outages and regulatory changes. Stablecoins can lose their peg or become difficult to redeem. An audit, proof-of-reserves report, listing or regulatory registration does not eliminate risk or guarantee recovery. Deposit insurance and investor compensation may be unavailable.

Tokenised stocks and other market exposure

A token referencing a stock, fund, index or other asset is not necessarily ownership of that asset. Voting, dividends, redemption, transfer, collateral and insolvency rights depend on the issuer, legal structure and terms. Tracking errors, fees, trading hours, liquidity and access restrictions can differ from the underlying market. Check the exact instrument, issuer, network, contract and current documentation. Coverage of AI-related stocks does not imply that a company will benefit from AI or deliver positive returns.

Research, scores, data and calculators

Decision Briefs, rankings, indices, comparisons, checklists and calculators reflect their stated methods, assumptions, sources and review dates. They are research aids, not personal suitability assessments, credit ratings, security audits, regulatory approvals or guarantees. A high score does not mean a product is safe. Missing or unverified information is not evidence that a risk or cost is zero.

Data may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate. Unless expressly identified otherwise, figures are not executable live quotes. Illustrations and modelled outcomes can exclude costs, taxes, liquidity constraints or adverse events. Verify inputs and assumptions. A calculated result or downloaded worksheet is not a validated investment strategy or a substitute for professional due diligence.

Simplified summaries and secondary channels

DN secondary blogs and social channels may condense longer research from decentralised.news. A summary cannot reproduce every example, method or technical detail. Read the linked source article, its publication or review date, qualifications and primary sources before relying on a summary. The longer article also has limitations and may need updating.

Simplification is not permission to omit material risks, costs, eligibility conditions or commercial relationships. Those should remain visible in the summary itself. If a summary conflicts with a source or an apparent error affects a decision, pause and seek clarification. A link to further reading does not turn an incomplete or misleading claim into a reliable one.

AI tools, automation and generated outputs

AI systems can produce incorrect, fabricated, biased or insecure outputs. Performance depends on model version, settings, data and context; published tests describe particular conditions. Independently validate outputs, code and calculations before use, especially for financial, legal, security or other consequential decisions. Do not enter private keys, credentials or confidential information into a tool without understanding its security and data practices.

Automated agents can take unintended actions and blockchain transactions may be irreversible. Review permissions, spending limits and transaction details. DN may use AI-assisted tools in research, analysis, development and editorial workflows. AI output is not authoritative evidence by itself; editorial responsibility remains with DN. Material AI involvement should be identified where it affects a reader's understanding of the work.

Affiliate links, advertising and conflicts

Some DN links are affiliate or referral links. DN may earn a commission or other compensation if you register, purchase, deposit, trade or take another qualifying action through them. The qualifying event and commercial terms vary. Check the provider's current prices, fees and offer terms; do not assume a referral always costs the same or gives the best available deal.

Paid advertising, sponsored content, free access and other material relationships should be clearly disclosed with the relevant content, before or beside the endorsement and associated links. This general page is not a substitute for those disclosures. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable editorial conclusion, ranking or risk finding. Material author or publisher interests relevant to a piece should be disclosed there. Third-party advertisements are not a guarantee of quality, safety or suitability.

Third parties, availability and local restrictions

Third-party products, websites and services operate under their own terms, privacy practices and eligibility requirements. DN does not control their operations, security, prices, withdrawals or continued availability. Verify the provider's identity, applicable authorisation and current restrictions. Availability on a website does not mean a product can lawfully be promoted to you or used in your location. Do not circumvent geographic, age or other access restrictions.

References to brands, regulators, platforms or Google hosting do not imply endorsement or an affiliation beyond one expressly disclosed. For privacy information, read DN's Privacy Policy and the policies of the hosting platform and third-party services you use. This disclaimer is not a privacy notice or consent mechanism.

Accuracy, updates and corrections

We aim to publish accurate, useful information, but cannot promise that every item is complete, current or error-free. Opinions are those expressed at the relevant time and may change. Publication and review dates matter. No continuous monitoring or individual update notification is promised unless expressly stated. Please report suspected errors with the page URL and supporting evidence through our Contact page.

Warranties, liability and your legal rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, content and tools are provided as available without warranties of accuracy, completeness, uninterrupted availability or fitness for your particular purpose. To that same extent, DN excludes liability for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the content or tools, including lost profits or data.

Nothing in these disclosures excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or gross negligence where protected by applicable law, or removes mandatory consumer rights or remedies. These disclosures do not excuse misleading statements, unlawful promotions or a failure to make required disclosures. They do not certify regulatory compliance.
