Aster

Aster Pro perpetuals still separate cross, isolated and multi-asset risk, but current docs now provide concrete 0.01% maker / 0.035% taker headline rates, Single-Asset collateral of USDT and USD1, Multi-Asset auto-exchange triggers and a documented 4% annualized negative-balance rate.

What Matters

Identify the product and the collateral at risk.

Provider-documentation review of Aster perpetual trading. Not a live execution test, exhaustive product inventory, security audit or individual eligibility assessment.

This brief covers orderbook perpetuals. Separate 1001x-mode rules and Grid strategies are outside its scope; conditions should not be carried across products.

Is the overview rate an all-in price?

The current Aster Perpetuals overview advertises 0.01% maker and 0.035% taker fees for Pro mode. These are headline trading rates rather than an all-in order-and-holding cost.

Why it matters: Combine the applicable trading rate with funding, execution price, collateral conversion/interest and any account-specific adjustments before comparing venues.

What changes between cross and isolated margin?

Cross margin shares the full margin balance across open positions; isolated margin dedicates margin to one position. The guide still states that mode cannot be changed after submitting a position or placing an open order.

Why it matters: Choose the margin mode before trading. Cross mode exposes the shared balance, while isolated mode confines the stated position margin.

Can multi-asset margin create additional costs?

Single-Asset Mode currently lists USDT and USD1. Multi-Asset Mode is cross-margin only, can auto-exchange assets when balances or LTV conditions breach thresholds, and charges hourly interest on negative USDT/USD1 balances beyond a -1,000 USD exemption. The current annualized rate is documented as 4%.

Why it matters: Treat shared collateral as a credit system with haircuts, auto-exchange and interest—not merely a larger wallet balance. Check current collateral ratios and thresholds.

Does the wallet balance equal the transferable amount?

Maximum transfer formulas still depend on wallet balance, margin requirements, open orders and unrealized PnL, with different calculations for cross and isolated margin. The page explicitly notes that transferring out margin can raise liquidation risk.

Why it matters: A displayed balance is not guaranteed transferable cash. Recalculate capacity under the active margin mode before moving funds.

Can promotional fee credits replace collateral?

AFEE remains a fee-offset token that cannot be used as position margin or to cover funding/liquidation costs. BonusUSD is separately documented as non-withdrawable futures collateral that requires Multi-Asset Mode.

Why it matters: Separate fee credits from collateral and withdrawable value. BonusUSD can support trading but is not equivalent to cash; AFEE cannot replace collateral.

Does a TWAP strategy guarantee fills?

TWAP remains best-effort: strategies can run from 1 minute to 7 days, terminate if a sub-order fails margin checks, support Multi-Assets Mode, and do not guarantee completion or price. Up to 30 TWAP strategies may run simultaneously per account.

Why it matters: TWAP is an execution-management tool, not a fill guarantee. Margin sufficiency, liquidity and volatility can interrupt or distort execution.

Evidence boundary

No invented rates. No implied guarantees.

  • Current executable quotes and all-in holding costs
  • Independent fill, stop-loss and withdrawal reliability
  • Live signing permissions and revocation behaviour
  • Individual eligibility and current regional restrictions

No numerical all-in cost is calculated. A valid comparison needs contemporaneous quotes for matching assets, product modes, notional sizes, directions and holding periods, with entry, holding and exit costs included.
